A separation is difficult for adults. For your children, they have no control over these decisions, they could be angry, may try to blame themselves but feel they cannot talk to one or both of you because they do not want to upset you.
Who can they talk to?
As parents, you make decisions for your children. However, older children [8 years to teens] can and should have their say about future arrangements for them. Child Inclusive mediation is where they can speak to a Child Consultant Mediator separately to their parents. We find this is often an ‘off-loading’ and therapeutic experience for children.
